Project Name: Global Emergency Nutrition Response Program (GENRP) Final Evaluation, Yobe State
As external evaluators of the Global Emergency Nutrition Response Program (GENRP) in Fika, Nguru, and Machina LGAs of Yobe State, our objective was to assess the program’s overall performance, evaluating its effectiveness, relevance, efficiency, coherence, outcomes, likelihood of sustainability, and impact. Employing a multistage sampling methodology, we ensured comprehensive coverage and addressed biases in the selection process. In the initial stage, we randomly selected four wards within the intervention areas of each LGA, taking into account the varying number of wards covered by GENRP. This approach aimed to provide a representative cross-section of intervention locales while maintaining analytical manageability. Subsequently, within each selected ward, we further conducted random sampling to choose four catchment communities, resulting in a total of 64 communities across the three LGAs. This meticulous, layered selection process was pivotal in capturing diverse experiences and outcomes, enhancing the validity and reliability of our evaluation, which delved into the intricacies of the implemented GAC Funded program in Yobe State. We developed a robust research methodology using both qualitative and quantitative data and conducted a thorough analysis to identify successes and areas for improvement. These findings were then authored into a comprehensive report with recommendations and actionable insights to improve the overall quality of the GENRP program.
